Brief info

Jasper Baur is the Co-founder and Lead Scientist of Safe Pro AI and President of the non-profit organization Demining Research Community. He is also a doctoral candidate at Columbia University studying remote sensing applied to explosive hazard mitigation ranging from detecting small anti-personnel landmines to monitoring Alaskan volcanoes. He graduated from Binghamton University in 2020 with a BS in Geological Sciences and a double minor in GIS and graphic design, and a Masters from Columbia University in 2022 in physical volcanology. He has received numerous awards for his work in landmine detection including being the first undergraduate to receive the American Geophysical Union's David Miller Young Scientist scholarship in 2018, recipient of the Barry Goldwater Scholarship in 2019, and the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program in 2020. He is an FAA 107 certified UAS remote pilot and has months of fieldwork experience in remote environments.
